A written scope first
What affects boiler replacement cost?
A straightforward replacement and a fuel conversion are different jobs. I check the equipment, piping, venting and access before giving you a finished price. Your written estimate identifies what is included, any exclusions, permit fees and applicable tax treatment.
Oil boilers
Replacement of the boiler and the agreed near-boiler components. Oil tank work, chimney work and changes to domestic hot water are identified separately when needed.
Condensing and combi
Heating-only and combined heating/hot-water options. Selection considers the distribution system, hot-water demand, vent route and manufacturer requirements.
Photos help start the conversation. A final replacement estimate follows an on-site assessment. Any additional scope requires your written approval before work proceeds.
Repair or replace
Condition matters more than a birthday.
An older boiler with a repairable fault may still be worth keeping. I consider its condition, repair history, parts availability, safety and operating performance before recommending a replacement.

Review the home’s heating requirements, existing distribution, fuel supply, venting, access and hot-water needs. You receive equipment options and a written estimate.
Confirm equipment and dates
Deposit and payment terms are written into the estimate. Installation dates are confirmed after equipment availability is established. We discuss heating and hot-water interruption before starting.
Install, test and hand over
Most JSEP boiler replacements take about three working days. More complex work can take longer. Startup, combustion testing as applicable, controls checks and a walkthrough are included in the agreed scope.
Before you book
Can you replace it the same day?
No same-day replacement is promised. A typical installation takes three working days after assessment and equipment availability. Call to discuss current availability if you have no heat.
Can I switch from oil to gas?
That requires confirmation of utility service, capacity, approvals and the work needed at your property. A nearby gas main alone does not establish feasibility or savings.
Can you combine heating and hot water?
Yes, a combi or an indirect water heater may be suitable. I assess simultaneous hot-water demand and the existing system before recommending either. Water heater services are also available.
Which brands do you work with?
Crown and Burnham, plus Navien and Laars for suitable condensing and combi applications. Final equipment selection is part of the estimate.
